Key Responsibilities:- Establish and lead design, analysis, integration, testing, and documentation of mechanical hardware of advanced complexity.
- Lead design efforts and teams, including mentoring of junior engineers.
- Lead hardware engineering requirements capture, analysis, and creation for advanced complexity components of mechanical designs.
- Work closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure that mechanical design is appropriate for the project/product design approach.
- Lead cross-functional team efforts in integration and test of completed designs and sub-systems.
- Champion the appropriate processes and tools during development of hardware. Drive improvement to processes and tools where applicable.
- Drive design and team decisions in day-to-day job responsibilities.
- Report and manage status relating to technical performance, cost, and schedule for assigned scope of work.
- Present design and project material for customer reviews and meetings.
- Experience with technical design documentation such as mechanical assemblies, fabrication drawings, parts lists, weldments, and installation drawings.
- Experience with traditional sheet metal fabrication, machined parts, and weldments is a must.
- Experience with SolidWorks Software Computer Aided Design (CAD).
- Proficient with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling, part, and assembly drawings.
- Proficient utilizing MS Office Applications / Office 365.
- Experience with AutoCAD Software is a plus.
- Training Simulator Engineering design experience is desired.
- Ability to quickly change focus between high-level concepts and low-level details.
- Self-motivated, able to organize, manage, and complete assignments on time.
- Well-developed habit of verifying work for accuracy prior to submission for review by others.
- Ability to clearly communicate with co-workers and customers both written and verbally.
- Candidate with active and transferrable Secret Security Clearance or higher is preferred.
