Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and lead design, analysis, integration, testing, and documentation of mechanical hardware of advanced complexity.
  • Lead design efforts and teams, including mentoring of junior engineers.
  • Lead hardware engineering requirements capture, analysis, and creation for advanced complexity components of mechanical designs.
  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure that mechanical design is appropriate for the project/product design approach.
  • Lead cross-functional team efforts in integration and test of completed designs and sub-systems.
  • Champion the appropriate processes and tools during development of hardware. Drive improvement to processes and tools where applicable.
  • Drive design and team decisions in day-to-day job responsibilities.
  • Report and manage status relating to technical performance, cost, and schedule for assigned scope of work.
  • Present design and project material for customer reviews and meetings.
Requirements:
  • Experience with technical design documentation such as mechanical assemblies, fabrication drawings, parts lists, weldments, and installation drawings.
  • Experience with traditional sheet metal fabrication, machined parts, and weldments is a must.
  • Experience with SolidWorks Software Computer Aided Design (CAD).
  • Proficient with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling, part, and assembly drawings.
  • Proficient utilizing MS Office Applications / Office 365.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with AutoCAD Software is a plus.
  • Training Simulator Engineering design experience is desired.
  • Ability to quickly change focus between high-level concepts and low-level details.
  • Self-motivated, able to organize, manage, and complete assignments on time.
  • Well-developed habit of verifying work for accuracy prior to submission for review by others.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with co-workers and customers both written and verbally.
  • Candidate with active and transferrable Secret Security Clearance or higher is preferred.
