Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to create and implement tailored education plans for students.
- Provide Direct Instruction and Support: Offer one-on-one instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, adapting your teaching methods to meet the unique requirements of each student.
- Monitor and Document Student Progress: Regularly assess and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed to ensure students meet their educational goals.
- Foster a Positive and Inclusive Classroom Environment: Create a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth for all students.
- Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with general education teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and supportive educational experience for students.
- Education and Certification: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field, with valid ME 282 Special Education certification.
- Experience and Skills: Minimum 1+ years of experience in special education, with expertise in autism and specific learning disabilities. Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to Inclusive Education: A commitment to meeting the unique needs of students with disabilities and promoting inclusive education practices.
