The Grocery and Bulk Operations Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the Grocery/Bulk Manager to ensure the effective management and profitability of the Grocery/Bulk department.


Key Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:
Delivering exceptional customer service as the top priority.

Demonstrating integrity, accountability, and excellence while adhering to all company policies.

Creating a welcoming, well-stocked, and shopper-friendly environment.

Assisting the Grocery/Bulk Manager with inventory management and ordering processes to maintain optimal stock levels.


Supporting the management of department profitability, including monitoring margins, costs of goods sold (COGs), and minimizing shrinkage through effective purchasing strategies.

Ensuring that all products and conditions meet company standards.

Facilitating special orders and following up as necessary.

Merchandising shelves, endcaps, and promotional displays.

Participating in and overseeing tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock activities.

Assisting in the training and supervision of department staff, including task assignment and follow-up.

Conducting both active and passive product demonstrations.

Collaborating with the department manager to address performance challenges within the team.

Supporting store operations, including daily sales reporting and cash handling responsibilities.


Managing register operations, including backup cashiering, processing customer returns, resolving complaints, and covering register shifts during breaks.

Maintaining a safe and secure environment for both customers and employees.


Responding to customer inquiries in accordance with company standards and policies, including health and nutritional guidance.

Continuously enhancing product knowledge.

Utilizing inventory management software and other relevant systems as required.

Working a flexible schedule based on store needs, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. This position typically requires a commitment of five days and 40 hours per week, along with attendance at mandatory store meetings.


This role has limited Manager on Duty responsibilities and is not intended to serve as the overall Manager on Duty for the store.


While this outline provides a general overview of job responsibilities, all employees are expected to be proactive and willing to perform any necessary tasks to contribute to the success of the company.


Qualifications:

Ingredients for Success:
A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is preferred.

At least one year of experience in a grocery or retail setting is preferred; a background in natural foods is advantageous.

One year of supervisory experience is preferred.


Ability to complete food safety training and maintain compliance with required certifications.

Capability to manage shifting priorities while remaining focused on tasks.

A strong sense of urgency in completing assignments.

Excellent customer service skills.

Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.

Ability to follow directions and execute tasks effectively.

Must be trained in cashier operations and proficient in handling cash.

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
