Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Phlebotomist II to join our team at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital. As a Phlebotomist II, you will be responsible for performing phlebotomy and other specialized specimen collection procedures for patients in both in-patient and out-patient settings.

• Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing
• Perform phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture and capillary puncture
• Process, organize, label, and transport specimens for laboratory testing
• Input and extract data with the Laboratory Information System
• Provide patient care and technical support as needed
• Collaborate with the patient care team to ensure accurate and timely specimen collection
• Participate in departmental projects and activities to improve specimen collection and laboratory testing processes

• High School diploma or equivalent education
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience, including data entry and specimen handling
• Neonatal/pediatric phlebotomy experience preferred
• Certification in phlebotomy, such as CPT or PBT(ASCP), preferred

This position requires working in a fast-paced laboratory environment, with frequent exposure to blood and other bodily fluids. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
