As a School Age Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the planning and implementation of our programming for children aged 5-13. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate a variety of age-appropriate activities, support children's social-emotional development, and ensure their safety and well-being at all times.

Physical and Environmental Conditions

As a School Age Teacher, you will be responsible for various program elements on a daily basis and will be exposed to indoor and outdoor environments. You may be required to:

  • Identify hazards and implement preventative actions to maintain a safe environment for children.
  • Be comfortable with occasional loud noise during outdoor activities.
  • Be comfortable with frequent bending, lifting, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Push, lift, carry, and hold objects up to 15 lbs.
  • Work in various weather conditions and traverse different terrains and heights.
  • Adapt to the physical level of children during activities and problem-solving interactions.
  • Supervise field trips to destinations such as aquatic parks, beaches, and trampoline parks.
Qualifications and Experience

Catalyst Kids requires a strong educational foundation and relevant experience in early childhood education. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a group care environment, preferably with a consistent age group.
  • Effective problem-solving, conflict resolution, classroom management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and maintain a professional team environment.
  • Current adult and infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
