About the Role

\

We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our outpatient substance abuse treatment program, you will play a critical role in helping individuals overcome their addiction and achieve long-term recovery.

Job Responsibilities\
  • \
  • Assess and diagnose clients with substance abuse issues, developing personalized treatment plans to address their unique needs.\
  • Provide evidence-based outpatient substance abuse treatment, adhering to licensing guidelines and HHSC/TAC approved methodologies.\
  • Collaborate with treatment teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans, ensuring fidelity with state and federal statutes, as well as contract and licensing requirements.\
  • Participate in identifying problems and implementing solutions to ensure seamless delivery of services.\

Requirements\
  • \
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work (Masters preferred).\
  • Completion of coursework for the Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or other approved graduate program, with active involvement in or completion of intern hours, or be a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Counselor Intern, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker Intern.\
  • Desirable experience working with individuals with mental illness and/or addiction issues.\
  • Current driver's license and a vehicle for use at work.\
  • LCDC or LCDC Intern, LPC or LPC Intern, LCSW or LCSW Intern.\

  • Ability to speak a second language relevant to the population served (preferred).\
  • Self-motivation, organizational skills, and attention to detail.\
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.\
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written), with ability to work cooperatively with others.\
  • Ability to identify problems and implement solutions.\

Compensation Package

\

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
