Surgical Pathologist

We are seeking a highly skilled General Surgical Pathologist to join our team of professionals at Quest Diagnostics Incorporated. As a key member of our laboratory, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic interpretation of biopsy and/or cytology material.

• Perform gross and microscopic evaluation, dictation, and electronic release of reviewed cases
• Participate as an active medical member of the department with substantial diagnostic case responsibilities
• Participate in client visits, peer consults, and continuing education
• Perform quality control and assurance
• Interact with ordering physicians who request to speak with a pathologist
• Read and interpret laboratory data
• Provide expertise and help to technologists and technicians to resolve problems
• Participate in departmental professional Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities

• Doctor of Medicine
• AP/CP Board Certification
• Active unrestricted licensure for IL
• Sub-specialty boards preferred but not required
• Experience interpreting serum protein electrophoresis/immunofixation and hematology peripheral smears preferred but not required
• Experience in a large biopsy or cytology lab preferred
• Fulfill responsibilities listed in CLIA '88 if required

• Flexible day shift hours
• Occasional travel to meet clients may be required
