Job Summary

Travel Nurse Source is collaborating with Cynet Health to find a skilled Postpartum Registered Nurse for a position in New York. As a Postpartum RN, you will specialize in caring for patients after childbirth, ensuring the well-being of both the mother and the newborn.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor vital signs of the mother and newborn, identifying any potential complications.
  • Continuously assess the mother and newborn for signs of symptoms that could indicate postpartum hemorrhage, postpartum depression, or failure to thrive.
  • Bathe the newborn infant and administer antibiotics and/or pain medication as needed.
  • Educate new parents on how to care for their newborns after discharge from the hospital.
  • Assist mothers in establishing a breastfeeding relationship and provide emotional support during the recovery process.
  • Collaborate with doctors and other nursing staff to ensure the plan of care is being followed.
  • Remove catheters following successful deliveries and refer parents to additional resources, such as support groups.
Requirements
  • RN license in good standing.
  • Minimum one year of recent experience in Postpartum in a healthcare facility.
  • Active AHA BLS, ACLS, and NRP Certification.
