Dining Server

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking a dedicated and service-minded individual to join our team as a Dining Server at our Cedarhurst of Naperville community. As a Dining Server, you will have the opportunity to connect with and positively impact the lives of our residents daily, providing a top-notch dining experience for our residents and their families.

• Support all catering, room service, special party needs, and marketing functions.
• Take drink and food orders, serve residents and guests in a professional and efficient manner.
• Maintain a clean work area by assisting with washing all pots, pans, and cooking utensils used to prepare a meal.
• Clear, sanitize, and set tables, remove garbage from the kitchen, and clean trash containers.
• Assist in cleaning work areas, dining room floor, dining room tables, and dining room chairs after each meal and occasionally after special events.
• Possess a working knowledge of individual assignments and resident dining needs.
• Assist in controlling food costs, when possible.
• Read and follow recipe books, as well as read labels.
• Safely operate and clean all kitchen equipment and cooking utensils.
• Understand dining menus and effectively communicate information to residents.
• Ensure table settings meet Cedarhurst's dining standards.
• Remain current and up to date with all food safety licensing requirements for FDA, state, county, and local authorities, and ensure all guidelines are adhered to.
• Maintain safety standards as outlined by Cedarhurst guidelines for infection control.
• Utilize basic mathematical concepts, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions, to practical situations.
• Ensure effective communication is being utilized by community staff with the residents' families concerning residents' care, encompassing their physical, personal, and emotional well-being.
• Work well with others and take direction from management, as well as take initiative with the capability to engage in conflict intervention and resolution for residents, families, employees, and others as needed.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 0-2 years of previous experience preferred.
• Applicable state/county licensure preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Be able to demonstrate proficiency in Internet browsers (e.g., Explorer, Chrome, and Fire Fox), Microsoft Office programs (including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Publisher), electronic health records (EHR) systems, and any HR-related systems if applicable.
