Key Responsibilities
Deliver individualized patient care, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
Document patient care and communicate effectively with the care team, physicians, and family members.
Monitor and report patient status, utilizing resources as needed to ensure optimal care.
Assign priorities to patient problems, with a focus on urgent and critical issues.
Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, nutrition, and ambulation.
Collaborate with the care team to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and spiritual/psychosocial support.
Evaluate patient learning needs and provide education appropriate to their age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Requirements
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing or a Compact State.
Previous experience in an acute care hospital setting is preferred.
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required within one year of employment.
