Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a diverse array of biochemical, hematological, microbiological, and blood bank analyses with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identify and respond to normal, abnormal, and critical results in a timely manner.
  • Exhibit proficiency in clerical and digital tasks, effectively communicate results, and undertake additional responsibilities as required.
  • Guarantee that results are provided within designated timeframes.
  • Collaborate efficiently with fellow staff and clinical personnel.
  • Engage in quality assurance initiatives and ongoing professional development.
  • Oversee and manage supply inventories, assisting in stock management.
  • Instruct staff in laboratory protocols.
  • Comply with safety and infection control regulations.
  • Be open to assuming new responsibilities and tasks.
  • Follow established policies and procedures of the institution and department.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all procedures and equipment in relevant areas.
  • Detect and address issues that may affect testing performance.
  • Perform other designated duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Specialized training for California Clinical Laboratory Scientist or California Specialty License.
  • Previous experience or training in clinical laboratory science.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competence in computer applications.
  • Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist license.
  • Certification in Fire Life Safety Training.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Clinical Laboratory Specialist in Microbiology.
