Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Professional to join our team at the Plasma Donor Center. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our donors while also providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and register new plasma donors into the donor management computer system
  • Conduct screening procedures to include taking blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, and arm checks
  • Perform finger sticks to test donors for hematocrit testing and total protein testing utilizing screening equipment
  • Determine donor eligibility by performing donor eligibility assessments, to include; medical history interview, physical examination, educating donor on donor testing, HIV/AIDS virus, donation risks, informed consent, confidential self-exclusion, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) testing as necessary
  • Provide counseling to Donors regarding unacceptable test results
  • Initiate and assist in donor investigations regarding Post Donation Information
  • Evaluate and attend to donor adverse events during the donation process
  • Follow all standard operating procedures for all medical emergencies, to include communication with the Center Medical Director and donor transport to emergency medical care facilities
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum one (1) year work experience preferred
  • Actively licensed or certified in the state where performing duties: Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN), Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required
Working Conditions

The Plasma Donor Center is a typical work environment with moderate noise level. You may be exposed to freezing temperatures for short periods of time. Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is possible.
