Senior Project Manager for Commercial Lunar Payload Services

The National Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA) is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Project Manager to lead the Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) project. As a senior leader in the Exploration Architecture, Integration and Science Directorate, you will provide vision, strategic planning, and project management for this critical program.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the CLPS Project Office, providing leadership oversight and technical direction to a multi-center team of payload integration managers, scientists, business and procurement professionals.
- Oversee a multi-billion-dollar procurement effort for novel commercial lunar payload delivery methods and establish staffing plans that support CLPS and further Agency interests.
- Provide expert advice to the Deputy Associate Administrator of the Science Mission Directorate in developing and implementing NASA strategy for CLPS task orders and follow-on CLPS procurements.
- Engage directly with industry, serving as a space flight systems expert to identify how NASA can best enable US industry to be successful in missions to the Moon.
- Lead the development, release, award, and modification of CLPS task orders, partnering with NASA procurement to assess the effectiveness of evolutionary changes to the CLPS procurement approach.
- Play a critical and influential role in balancing NASA traditions and processes with emerging, innovative commercial practice and advising agency leadership and industry partners on how the US industry will grow to support future NASA needs.
- Must be a recognized subject matter expert with at least 1 year of directly related experience equivalent to the GS-15 level in advising senior leaders on strategy and associated governance policies, and building stakeholder coalitions (both internal and external, funders and providers) to provide technical management for space flight hardware, including design, test and certification as it pertains to spaceflight systems.
