Position Overview:
The Senior Electrophysiology Specialist collaborates closely with physicians to oversee the technical aspects of implanted cardiac devices, including pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs). This role is crucial in delivering exceptional care to patients undergoing invasive Electrophysiology (EP) procedures and assisting electrophysiologists during both diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. The specialist is responsible for managing device patients, implementing treatment plans, and performing advanced programming adjustments as needed, all while working in conjunction with healthcare professionals. Additionally, this position involves troubleshooting a range of device issues and participating in ongoing training on advanced mapping techniques. The specialist may also be involved in training new EP staff to ensure they acquire essential technical skills.
Job Description:
EDUCATION
- Associate's degree in physical sciences, healthcare-related fields, or equivalent experience.
- BLS - Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the field.
- Extensive knowledge and practical experience in 3D mapping, bloom stimulation, stereotaxis, and intracardiac echocardiography.
- Expertise in programmed electrical stimulation and pacing protocols.
- Proficient in the interrogation and programming of pacemakers and defibrillators.
- In-depth understanding of intra-cardiac echo and advanced pacing and cardiac rhythm management devices.
- Strong communication, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail; and ability to write clearly.
