Position Summary

This position provides hotel guests with a breakfast experience according to Hotel Brand requirements. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the breakfast buffet, seating area, and kitchen to Hotel Brand and Health Department standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Provide breakfast according to the Hotel Brand breakfast chart, cooked accordingly and offered in a pleasing presentation.
  • Guest Interaction: Establish rapport with guests to make them feel welcome.
  • Maintenance and Cleaning: Follow assigned schedule for daily cleaning responsibilities and tasks, maintaining all logs as required per hotel and State Health Department requirements.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain daily food inventories working with the front desk on occupancy to ensure food is available to satisfy guest needs.
  • Sourcing and Ordering: Work with the FD Supervisor to order supplies twice weekly or as needed, following the minimum order requirement.
  • Communication: Communicate maintenance concerns to the Front Desk that need to be handled by engineering.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and attitude, being readily available to assist guests with food preparation or table cleanup.
  • Food Safety: Be aware and maintain proper cooking and storage temperatures.
  • Knowledge of Facilities: Be thoroughly knowledgeable of where all hotel facilities and rooms are located and all emergency procedures, being prepared to assist the MOD in an emergency.
  • Meeting Room Scheduling: Review the Meeting Room Schedule and handle accordingly.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Serv-Safe certification
  • Previous hotel experience preferred
  • A willingness and passion to serve
  • Good grooming and good personal presentation
  • Ability to multi-task and display composure under pressure
  • Ability to communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing

Estimated Salary: $25,000 - $30,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

Work Environment: The employee will be exposed to contact with chemical mixtures when filling cleaning chemical containers and while cleaning assigned areas.

Physical Activities: To perform the essential functions of this position, the individual must be able to see, speak and hear, stand and walk for long periods of time, with constant bending, stooping and reaching required. An individual should also be able to lift up to 75 lbs. and may frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 lb. Manual dexterity is necessary for the manipulation of cleaning tools, paperwork, etc.
