About the Position

Bunker Hill Community College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) courses to adult learners. The successful candidate will have a strong background in TESOL, English, Education, or Applied Linguistics, and experience working with diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach ESL courses according to a fixed hybrid schedule, using a variety of instructional methods to engage adult learners.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Massachusetts English Language Proficiency Standards (MA ELPS).
  • Assess student progress, provide feedback, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share resources and best practices in ESL instruction.
  • Stay current with research and educational best practices in ESL teaching.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in TESOL, English, Education, or Applied Linguistics, or a related field with specific coursework or training in TESOL/TESL/TEFL methodology and theory.
  • Experience teaching ESL courses to adult learners, preferably in a community college setting.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
