**Process Engineer - Upstream Cell Culture**
**Your Role**
Let’s embark on this journey together. In this crucial position at our facility, you will utilize core scientific principles to enhance upstream cell culture processes. As part of a collaborative team, you will focus on optimizing bioprocesses, supporting drug substance production, and facilitating the introduction of new products. Our site features two multiproduct facilities dedicated to producing a variety of groundbreaking biologic and biosimilar therapies. This role will immerse you in all facets of operations within our commercial bulk drug substance production.
Your responsibilities will include advancing technology transfer initiatives, troubleshooting processing challenges, and conducting technical evaluations on the effects of equipment, scale, and raw materials on processes and products. Furthermore, you will identify, assess, and implement opportunities for process optimization through your expertise and the application of innovative technologies.
As an Engineer at Amgen, you will play a vital role in enhancing and refining manufacturing processes, equipment, and products. Your contributions will involve resolving technical challenges, implementing process enhancements, and supporting product design and development initiatives.
+ Offer on-site assistance during clinical and validation operations while gathering pertinent process data.
+ Address technical issues related to clinical and commercial drug substance manufacturing.
+ Support various process optimization initiatives.

**Basic Qualifications:**
+ High school diploma / GED with 8 years of experience in Engineering or Biotechnology OR
+ Associate's degree with 6 years of experience in Engineering or Biotechnology OR
+ Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in Engineering or Biotechnology OR
+ Master’s degree.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ At least 1 year of experience in a Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical Process Development and/or Manufacturing Support role related to drug substance production.
+ Proficiency in applying engineering principles and statistical analysis, including experimental design, to resolve processing challenges and evaluate process improvement opportunities.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Proven ability to work with moderate supervision.
+ Competence in data analysis and interpretation.
+ Familiarity with digital and data modeling software.
+ A proactive individual capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
