Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Care Planning: Collect current symptoms, detailed patient history, and consult with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Triage and Stabilization: Perform triage, considering both physical and psychosocial elements, and manage basic life support needs to stabilize patients until the attending physician is available.
- Medication Administration: Prepare and administer prescribed medications, record vital signs, and report adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
- Patient Education: Initiate patient education plans, as prescribed by physicians, and teach patients and significant others how to manage their illness/injury.
- Professionalism and Communication: Display professionalism while completing multiple urgent tasks in a timely manner and record all care information concisely, accurately, and completely.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with current licensure in good standing.
- Experience: Evidence of minimum one year of recent hospital experience in the ER.
- Certifications: Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS mandatory; TNCC and NIHSS preferred.
