Position Title: Nutritional Services Aide

Organization: The University of Kansas Health System

Position Summary:
This role is a part-time position that operates within flexible hours, primarily from early morning to early afternoon and occasionally from late morning to evening.

Key Responsibilities:
The Nutritional Services Aide independently carries out dietary tasks which include, but are not limited to:

organizing, cleaning, and sanitizing dining utensils and food transport carts, overseeing dishwashing machine temperatures, assembling meal trays, maintaining cleanliness of workspaces, and operating as well as caring for kitchen equipment.


Essential Functions:
- Support the supervisor in encouraging staff to uphold cleanliness standards in food service areas and equipment.
- Train team members in their duties; delegate and coordinate tasks to enhance operational efficiency.
- Monitor meal quality and presentation to ensure compliance with standards.
- Maintain accurate patient dietary orders and liaise with nursing staff and dietitians regarding any inquiries or modifications to diet plans.
- Conduct weekly inventory checks of food supplies to guarantee adequate stock levels while ensuring quality standards are met.
- Follow organizational policies and procedures diligently.
- Assist the supervisor with the management and distribution of hospital resources (time, supplies, equipment, etc.).
- Must be capable of performing the professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies required for the assigned department.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in culinary, dietary assistance, or food service roles.

Preferred Qualifications:
