  • The Preschool Assistant Teacher will play a crucial role in fostering early education within our underserved communities.
  • This position involves collaborating with the classroom team to develop lesson plans that are both developmentally and culturally appropriate.
  • As part of the classroom team, the Preschool Assistant Teacher will assist in effectively managing the classroom environment.
  • Encourages positive interactions and acceptance among children, families, and staff within the classroom setting.
  • Facilitates and completes lesson plans in partnership with the classroom team.

The full-time Preschool Assistant Teacher will work closely with the Early Childhood Education program, making a direct impact in the West Town neighborhood.

POSITION SUMMARY:The Preschool Assistant Teacher is tasked with collaborating with the Lead Preschool Teacher to actively support the education, care, and overall development of children, adhering to DCFS licensing, NAEYC, and Head Start performance standards.

Travel: No travel required; work is conducted on-site.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • Illinois Gateways ECE credential level 4.
  • Bilingual/bicultural Spanish preferred.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Mandatory background checks for Criminal, Child Abuse and Neglect, and Sex Offender.
