Job Summary

The Tamarack Resort is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef Tournant to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation in multiple outlets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Procurement: Place orders for food and supplies from our warehouse and ensure timely delivery to our outlets.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve unexpected issues in the kitchen, ensuring minimal disruption to our operations.
  • Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and support to kitchen staff, ensuring they are equipped to meet the highest standards of food safety and quality.
  • Production Planning: Plan and coordinate the daily production of our kitchen, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimal waste.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of food safety and quality control, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Inventory Management: Rotate stock in coolers and freezers, ensuring that all products are used within their expiration dates.
  • Team Support: Assist other cooks during peak periods, ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently.
  • Workplace Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring that all equipment and facilities are in good working order.
Requirements
  • Age: 21 years or older.
  • Authorization: Proof of authorization to work in the United States.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certifications: Valid Health Card and any other required certifications or licenses.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in a high-volume hotel or casino environment, with a strong preference for experience in a 4- or 5-star resort or hotel.
  • Culinary Skills: Excellent knowledge of basic kitchen equipment, basic culinary production, sauces, soups, and advanced cooking techniques.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead kitchen operations, including staff and cost control, to ensure maximum profit.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Availability: Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
