Overview

Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, prepare them for examination and treatment, and assist practitioners as needed.
  • Draw blood and prepare paperwork for laboratory pick-up.
  • Perform urine drug screens, ensuring proper chain of custody and preparation for pick-up and shipment to the laboratory.
  • Maintain exam rooms, lab areas, and treatment rooms clean and stocked, ordering supplies as needed.
  • Assist with medical record maintenance, safeguarding confidentiality of employee health information.
  • Perform front office clerical duties, including answering telephones, check-in, check-out, and record processing.
  • Dispense medications as directed by practitioners and in accordance with state regulations.
  • Maintain and operate clinical equipment, including calibration and record keeping in accordance with current policies and procedures.
  • Perform ancillary testing and tasks as ordered by the Center Medical Director.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, clients, and peers, incorporating Orange Book values.
  • Ensure accuracy when completing and executing tasks, such as drug screens, DOTs, bandaging, dressings, and quality assurance checks.
  • Document results and paperwork accurately, concisely, and in a timely manner.
  • Provide a warm and compassionate patient experience, regardless of patient volume.
  • Manage time, prioritize tasks, and multitask in a busy environment.
  • Adapt to changing business needs, including scheduling and working additional hours or shifts as needed.
  • Deliver quality care in a busy clinical environment.
  • Take action to assist in other areas and ensure an excellent patient experience.
  • Seek opportunities for additional clinical training and self-development to provide quality care.
  • Effectively communicate with patients, clients, supervisors, and peers, incorporating Orange Book values.
  • Listen to and understand internal and external client needs to act and address.
  • Commit to personal excellence and understand how daily work contributes to center operations.
  • Hold self and others accountable and assist others to achieve results.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university or Graduate of an accredited Registered nursing program.
  • Current registration/license in the state where employed.
  • Successful completion of UDS, BAT, PFT, FIT, certification.
  • Job-Related Experience: Customarily at least one year of demonstrated experience in occupational health nursing or a related field.
  • Job-Related Skills/Competencies: Concentra Core Competencies of Service Mentality, Attention to Detail, Sense of Urgency, Initiative, and Flexibility.
  • Ability to make decisions or solve problems using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and ability to deal with people in a manner that shows tact and professionalism.
  • Ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information, including HIPAA and PHI, in accordance with federal and state laws and company policies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific).
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of clinical operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to train medical assistants under the direction of the Center Medical Director.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated willingness to participate in Continuing Medical Education.
