We are seeking a skilled System Safety Engineer to join our team at DCS Corp's U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command - Ground Vehicle Systems Center engineering group in Warren, MI.

The ideal candidate will work closely with our U.S. Army Software Engineering Center customer, providing technical engineering services to support Ground Vehicles and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide system and software safety engineering support to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) through hazard identification and analysis.
  • Develop and execute a System Safety Program Plan (SSPP) and a Software SSPP (SwSSPP) to ensure compliance with MIL-STD-882E, AOP-52, and the Joint Software System Safety Handbook (JSSSEH).
  • Conduct risk assessments and perform criticality and Level of Rigor evaluations using MIL-STD-882E, AOP-52, and the Joint Software System Safety Handbook (JSSSEH).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in a related engineering or science discipline.
  • 8 years of experience in System Safety or a related engineering discipline.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance.
  • Strong knowledge of MIL-STD-882E, AOP-52, and the Joint Software System Safety Handbook (JSSSEH).
  • Experience with Product Development Life Cycle (Systems, Software) supporting the development of Organizational System Safety Program Plans (SSPPs) and execution of SwSSPPs.
