Our dedicated team of 110 Nursing and Support professionals within Postpartum ensures that both team members and patients create lasting memories. We are committed to guiding parents through this significant transition, providing essential education and support throughout the journey. Additionally, Lactation Peer Counselors and Consultants are available on-site to assist new mothers.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will deliver nursing care with responsibility and accountability, adhering to the standards set forth by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the legal requirements of the State of Michigan. The role requires demonstrating competency through the nursing process, which encompasses assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse will uphold the professional performance standards outlined by the ANA, which include ethical practice, culturally competent care, effective communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality of practice, professional evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The goal is to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required within five years of hire.
  • Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license is essential.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC is required within 90 days of employment.

Work Schedule

This position is full-time, primarily during night shifts, with a weekly schedule of 36 hours. The hours of work are from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with variable days that allow for self-scheduling. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend.
