B.L. Harbert International is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Supervisor. This role serves as the primary leader in the field, overseeing all facets of the electrical construction contract, including productivity, safety measures, and quality assurance. Given the limited use of subcontractors, the ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of construction techniques and methodologies to effectively manage the work as a self-performing contractor. This includes the capability to strategize the project, accounting for labor needs, materials, tools, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the project electrical manager/engineer regarding scheduling, progress updates, and technical requirements.
- Oversee material requisitions in alignment with site and foreman requirements.
- Examine drawings and specifications to ensure compliance.
- Provide advance schedules and reports to senior management regarding electrical progress on-site.
- Manage the inventory and distribution of tools.
- Work closely with the quality control team to address any defects and ensure adherence to codes.
Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Ability to secure and maintain a security clearance from the US Government.
- Willingness to relocate to an international project site for an extended period.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience supervising construction projects.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
- Demonstrated leadership and personnel management skills.
- Capability to mentor less experienced electricians in safety standards and electrical materials.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in direct labor supervision rather than subcontractor management.
- Master Electrician certification.
- Familiarity with construction methods and a self-performing background.
- Knowledge of NFPA70E codes and standards.
- Experience with NEMA and UL electrical materials.
- Background in Department of Defense or Department of State construction projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Requirements:
To fulfill the responsibilities of this position, the employee must:
- Be capable of repetitive hand movements, reaching, and working overhead.
- Have the ability to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, climb, bend, balance, and twist for extended durations.
- Occasionally lift and/or push or pull weights up to 75 pounds.
- Possess the manual dexterity to operate construction tools and equipment.
- Exhibit physical agility and mobility to navigate the job site safely.
Work Environment:
In this role, the employee will:
- Be expected to work 60 hours per week, six days a week, with 10-hour shifts.
- Be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations.
- Encounter various extreme conditions at construction sites, including loud noises.
- Be comfortable working near moving mechanical parts and in outdoor conditions, including inclement weather.
