Job Summary:

The Clinical Educator of Nursing will utilize system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members, focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals. This role will integrate theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles, and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement educational programs for nursing staff to enhance their knowledge and skills in perioperative care.
  • Assess the competency of new nursing staff members and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Perianesthesia team to ensure seamless patient care and high-quality outcomes.
  • Contribute to quality and safety initiatives across the organization.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Education, or a related field.
  • 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in a designated specialty.
  • 3 months of experience serving as a preceptor.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Specialty certification in an area related to the unit's clinical scope within one year of hire.
  • Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
