Diesel Mechanic Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at AKP Recruiting. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining diesel engines and components used in various vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair complex diesel engine conditions
  • Communicate effectively with peers and management regarding repairs
  • Perform quality control work to ensure maximum customer satisfaction
  • Meet requirements for certifications

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's license (Bonus compensation for CDL holders)
  • Good work ethic, positive attitude, and reliability
  • Excellent understanding of Detroit Diesel engines through the current GHG17 product
  • Experience with other diesel engine platforms such as Cummins, CAT, & International

Desired Skills:

  • Hydraulics, Brakes & Suspension, Manual Transmissions, Drive Train, and Automatic Transmissions
  • Positive attitude and ability to set goals and accomplish them
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
