We are currently seeking a full-time Patient Services Coordinator.
The selected candidate must be available for the 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. shift.


JOB SUMMARY:

As a Patient Services Coordinator, your primary role will be overseeing the daily operations of the reception team.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring that all team members are welcoming incoming clients and visitors, managing incoming phone calls, and performing various administrative tasks in a professional manner.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Greet clients as they arrive at the center or contact us by phone, providing information about available services, payment options, and billing processes.
  • Schedule appointments and direct walk-in clients and emergencies according to established protocols.
  • Handle all incoming calls and route them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Register clients following registration procedures and collect necessary documentation.
  • Prepare required documents for each client and ensure all forms are completed accurately.
  • Review and verify client insurance coverage and calculate applicable charges.
  • Collect deposits or co-pays/deductibles prior to the client’s appointment, adhering to established policies.
  • Inform clients of their outstanding balances, collect payments, and issue receipts as necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with Providers and Medical Assistants to ensure efficient client flow and minimize wait times.
  • Remind clients of their upcoming appointments.
  • Follow up with clients who miss their appointments.
  • Communicate any client issues or complaints to the clinic manager or designated personnel.
  • Exhibit strong sensory skills, including visual acuity, good hearing, and dexterity.
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods and move throughout the workday.
  • Work closely with Clinic Managers to follow up with clients who did not attend their appointments.
  • Demonstrate effective speaking and listening skills.
  • Proficient in computer use and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with community-based organizations.
  • Support and embody DNA's mission statement.

Bilingual Preferred:
Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

  • Proficient in operating office equipment, including computers, copiers, and phones, with a typing speed of at least 35 wpm.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication in person, via phone, email, and written correspondence.
  • Ability to relate to clients, utilizing knowledge of medical terminology and triage procedures.
  • Ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to providing dignified healthcare for all.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Formal training from a vocational school may be considered in lieu of the above.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a medical or similar setting.
