Fire Protection Specialist

Job Overview
KFI Engineers PC is a recognized industry leader in facility infrastructure design and performance. As a Fire Protection Designer, you will be responsible for assisting in the design of fire protection systems, including performing hydraulic calculations and producing construction documents.
The ideal candidate will have 0-4 years of education and/or experience in fire protection, mechanical, and/or architectural design and/or engineering. A highly motivated individual with a professional demeanor and strong work ethic is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare fire protection systems layout and detailed drawings to produce a complete set of construction drawings in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
Assist in the preparation of contract specifications.
Perform accurate design calculations including hydraulic calculations.
Coordinate work with both internal and external stakeholders, providing technical support and work direction as needed.
Review of fire protection contractor shop drawings.
Perform field surveys and construction administration duties.
Provide technical information and assistance to project engineer or project manager.
Maintain a well-organized system to account for various information processed.
Represent the company in a professional matter.
Requirements:
Associate degree in Drafting and Design or Bachelor degree in Fire Protection or Mechanical Engineering.
Internship and/or Co-ops within Fire Protection or Mechanical design engineering
SpecLink experience.
NICET Certified in Water-Based Systems Layout, Fire Alarm Systems and/or Special Hazards Suppression Systems.
Compensation: The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
