This is an exciting opportunity to join Geisinger's team as a Certified Medical Assistant. As a key member of our outpatient care team, you will provide direct patient care and support for physicians and other healthcare providers. Your role will involve preparing patients, collecting and reviewing pertinent information, performing technical duties, documenting in the electronic medical record, and supporting a safe environment for patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform phlebotomy and assist in specific laboratory functions relative to the testing, reporting, and quality assurance of laboratory specimens.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork accurately and efficiently to expedite laboratory studies.
- Document in the appropriate sections to create a complete and accurate medical record.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required. Certified by one of the listed governing associations required: NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA.
