SierTeK Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst SME to support an opportunity at Wright Patterson AFB.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in biological science, medical field, or computer science, with at least five years' demonstrated work experience in one of these fields.
The employee shall support 711 Human Performance Wing (711 HPW), Human Effectiveness Directorate, Air and Space Biosciences Division, Biotechnology Branch, Bio-analytics (RHBBA) research or other professional and scientific work involving the application of multidisciplinary or unique biological science theories and techniques related to the study of living organisms and/or objects and how they relate to their environment.
The employee shall perform analysis and use systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approaches to manage projects related to the development, deployment and optimization of bioinformatics software tools and pipelines for analyses of Warfighter performance-related biological markers and interventions in both Windows and Linux environments.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, management, and communications skills, including scientific writing and documentation abilities.
The successful candidate will also have sufficient demonstrated content and associated software experience for developing various types of data pipelines, including Whole Genome Sequencing (Next Generation Sequencing), Transcriptomics, Metabolomics, and Proteomics.
Additionally, the candidate will have at least five years' demonstrated experience with bash or Python scripting languages and coding in a high-performance computing environment.
The employee shall assist with the preparation, coordination, and submission of protocol-related documents to Institutional Review Boards (IRBs).
The successful candidate will also have the ability to develop and maintain collaborations within and outside of AFRL, and maintain technical and programmatic cognizance of outside technological and research projects and programs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in scientific literature review and the ability to communicate best evidence to individuals, groups, and colleagues.
The successful candidate will also have the ability to support the preparation and execution of program initiatives, or other work as required, at the direction and input of RHB technical staff.
