Job Title: Skilled Laborer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled laborer to join our team at Prince Contracting. As a skilled laborer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to construction and site operations. This includes measuring distances, driving stakes, and stretching tight lines. You will also be responsible for bolting, nailing, aligning, and blocking up under forms. Additionally, you will signal operators of construction or asphalt equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications. You will also level earth or asphalt to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, and rakes. Furthermore, you will mix concrete and apply caulking compounds. You will also saw lumber, dismantle forms, remove projections from concrete, and mount pipe hangers.

Responsibilities

* Measure distances from grade stakes and drive stakes
* Stretch tight lines
* Bolt, nail, align, and block up under forms
* Signal operators of construction or asphalt equipment
* Level earth or asphalt to grade specifications
* Mix concrete and apply caulking compounds
* Saw lumber, dismantle forms, remove projections from concrete, and mount pipe hangers


Requirements

* Ability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
* Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend, crouch, or walk for extended periods of time
* Must be able to climb on and off of equipment
* Employee works on average ten (10) hours per day, five days (and occasionally six days) per week


Work Environment

* Work is performed outdoors in Florida heat and rain
* Work is performed around heavy highway traffic areas
