Carpenter/Painter Specialist

Job Summary

Central State Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Carpenter/Painter to join our team. As a Carpenter/Painter, you will be responsible for analyzing defects and malfunctions to determine the scope of the problems. You will perform as a Journeyman Carpenter and Painter, with responsibility for a complete project from initial layout to final assembly. Your duties will also include performing as a zone mechanic and completing small repairs in the areas of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze defects and malfunctions to determine the scope of the problems
• Perform as a Journeyman Carpenter and Painter, with responsibility for a complete project from initial layout to final assembly
• Perform as a zone mechanic and complete small repairs in the areas of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC

Requirements

• Ability to read, understand, and follow written job assignment
• Valid Virginia driving license
• Full range of skills in repair and construction in the area of carpentry and painting
• Understanding of blueprints and shop drawings
• Competent in the repair and installation of standard and correctional locks used at CSH and HWDMC
• Ability to perform small repairs in the areas of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and painting
• Basic computer knowledge and skills
