Aftercare Assistant

Job Summary:

The Anderson School District is seeking a qualified Aftercare Assistant to join our team. As an Aftercare Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for students after school hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the program coordinator in developing and presenting activities that promote student engagement and learning.
• Support students individually or in groups to develop their skills and interests.
• Perform routine maintenance duties, including inventory management and equipment maintenance.
• Monitor student activities and provide a safe and positive learning environment.
• Assist with general clerical duties, such as preparing schedules and maintaining records.
• Support student discipline and behavior management.

Requirements:

• Completion of at least two years of study at an institute of higher education or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of child growth, development, and behavior characteristics.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Working Conditions:

The Aftercare Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interactions with students, staff, and parents. The position requires the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of energy and enthusiasm.

Physical Demands:

The position requires frequent sitting, walking, and standing. The employee must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and have good hand-eye coordination.
