- Develop individual plans of care using a collaborative approach with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Promptly complete documentation to ensure accurate legal records of patient care.
- Deliver high-quality care utilizing the nursing process, demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills of the specialty required on assigned units.
- Utilize a holistic approach, considering biopsychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of patients and families served.
- Delegate and provide direction for other healthcare providers, holding them accountable for their involvement in the plan of care.
- Utilize critical thinking in making independent judgments, maintaining responsibility and accountability for the knowledge of conditions of assigned patients.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- BSN degree.
- Prefer one year of hospital clinical experience or demonstrated clinical efficiency.
- Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
- Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification prior to hire.
- Must possess Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or obtain within six months.
- Completion of one hour of stroke education prior to the end of orientation and annually.
- Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
