Job Overview

As a vital member of the team focused on optimizing supply and demand, this position is responsible for orchestrating in-house production schedules and liaising with vendors to fulfill customer requirements effectively. The primary objective of this team is to 1) ensure the availability of materials for timely production of high-quality soil and drilling equipment and 2) maintain consistent product availability for direct sales to clients and distributors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Planning: Align in-house production schedules with customer demands to ensure timely delivery.
    • Engineering Change Notice (ECN) Management: Coordinate new engineering designs while managing the transition of old materials through reworking or disposal.
    • Order Policy Development: Establish efficient order policies to support timely production within manufacturing facilities, collaborating with production teams for optimal decision-making.
    • Lead Time Optimization: Systematically reduce operational lead times to enhance efficiency.
    • Cycle Count Oversight: Manage a cycle count program for assigned areas to ensure inventory accuracy.
    • Work Order Management: Release work orders to production in alignment with the overall production plan.
    • Capacity Coordination: Collaborate with production departments to confirm available capacity and assist in reallocating overload to existing or newly sourced vendors.
    • Inventory Disposition: Oversee the management of obsolete inventory.
  • Procurement Duties: Ensure timely supply of all necessary materials.
    • Vendor Collaboration: Work closely with production teams to understand their needs for purchased components, ensuring optimal stock levels at the right time and cost.
    • Lead Time Management: Continuously work to minimize lead times through effective vendor management and agreements.
    • Purchase Order Evaluation: Daily assessment and release of purchase orders to meet immediate and future requirements.
    • Item Review and Maintenance: Assist in the evaluation of purchased items, including costs, delivery performance, and inventory levels.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively and flexibly with colleagues across the organization, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in transactions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly with advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of relating well to individuals at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges, demonstrating openness to change.
  • Capacity to handle complex situations with flexibility and adaptability.
  • Demonstrated perseverance in completing tasks, even in the face of challenges.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain activities within a manufacturing or engineering context.
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., APICS, CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent).
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.
