As a Team Lead, Registration/Bed Control, you will play a critical role in overseeing the daily functions of the Admitting department registration process and Admitting Registrars. You will be responsible for completing the scheduling for all Admitting/Bed Control Shifts, training new registrars, and ensuring the accuracy of registrations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete and maintain the scheduling for the Admitting Department in a timely manner.
  • Secure coverage for all PTO requests and ensure that the team is adequately staffed.
  • Complete Quality Reviews (QRs) monthly and bi-weekly for both registration and bed control.
  • Review unbilled service charges and make adjustments as needed.
  • Communicate with other departments and initiate corrections as necessary.
  • Train new hires and provide updates on policies and procedures.
  • Work with the team to improve registration integrity and increase POS collection.
  • Assure weekend coverage for all shifts and receive call-outs from the team during scheduled work hours.
  • Represent the Admitting department in meetings as required.
  • Maintain Ambulatory and ATC turnaround times and provide IT support as needed.
  • Work with Ambulatory and Endo departments to ensure cooperation and teamwork.
  • Provide coverage for the cashier's office as needed.
  • Oversee the team by ensuring the lunch hour protocol is followed and lunch coverage is assigned for all shifts, including weekends.
  • Work with the team to meet their goals and provide feedback on important issues.
  • Assist in completing probationary and scheduled appraisals for staff evaluations.
  • Ensure accuracy of registrations and team adherence to protocols and hospital standards.
  • Monitor the work of staff to verify that they are thoroughly gathering patients' demographic and financial information to maximize payment for services rendered.
  • Respond to concerns and/or complaints from patients, the public, medical staff, subordinates, and/or other hospital employees.
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of documents and information to comply with administrative policies and regulations.
  • Enforce best practices and ensure the team meets their goals consistently.
  • Work with staff to improve intradepartmental and Press Ganey patients' satisfaction.
  • Understand and adhere to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors.
Requirements
  • GED or High School Graduate, some college preferred.
  • 5-10 years previous Patient Access Hospital experience required.
  • Working Knowledge of the Registration and Bed Control workflows.
  • Ability to use basic office equipment and Microsoft/Excel.
  • Medical Terminology Required.
  • Capable of typing 45wpm.
