Position Overview:
The Room Care Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the cleanliness and presentation of guest accommodations meet the high standards of Boston Marriott Burlington.

Key Responsibilities:


Following directives from the Rooms Director and/or Operations Manager to uphold the hotel's cleanliness standards across all guest rooms.

Overseeing the housekeeping staff and supporting personnel assigned to the housekeeping division.
Facilitating communication regarding room statuses between the housekeeping office and the front desk.

Additional Duties Include:
  • Delegating tasks to housekeeping personnel and providing training on cleaning protocols.
  • Addressing guest concerns related to housekeeping services and equipment.
  • Reporting maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Inspecting carpets, drapes, and furnishings for cleanliness and damage.
  • Monitoring linen and supply inventory and communicating needs to the housekeeping team.
  • Documenting inspection outcomes and informing staff of any deficiencies.
  • Ensuring adequate staffing levels based on occupancy.
  • Utilizing the hotel property management system effectively.
  • Managing lost and found inquiries and associated procedures.
  • Inspecting vacant, departing, and inconsistent rooms.
  • Issuing and tracking keys.
  • Coordinating with other departments as necessary.
  • Conducting pre-shift briefings.
  • Assisting with room cleaning and laundry tasks as needed.
  • Inspecting linen storage and supply areas.

Supervisory Duties:
This role directly supervises hourly employees within the Housekeeping Department, adhering to organizational policies and legal requirements. Responsibilities include assisting with the recruitment, training, and evaluation of staff, as well as managing work assignments, performance appraisals, and addressing employee concerns.

Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are preferred:

Education and Experience:
A college degree is preferred. Candidates should possess a minimum of two years of housekeeping experience and three years of supervisory experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Language Proficiency:
Effective communication skills in both English and Spanish are required to interact with guests, supervisors, and colleagues.

Physical Requirements:
Must be capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds. The role frequently requires the use of arms, hands, and fingers, along with walking, sitting, crouching, kneeling, and standing.
