Overview:
This announcement is for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) positions within the Community Care Facility at the Veterans Health Administration.
Eligibility:
This position is open to:
- Current federal employees of this agency.
- U.S. Citizens and Nationals.
Key Responsibilities:
The LPN will be responsible for a variety of essential duties, including but not limited to:
- Administering medications in accordance with established protocols.
- Documenting patient observations, treatments, and medications electronically, and communicating relevant information to the supervising Registered Nurse.
- Collaborating effectively with the interdisciplinary care team, including family members and community services.
- Preparing and administering treatments and medications, while monitoring and recording vital signs.
- Recognizing and responding appropriately to emergency situations.
- Managing daily workload efficiently.
Work Schedule:
Rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays. Flexible scheduling options may be available.
Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Completion of a practical nursing program accredited by the appropriate state agency.
- Active and unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Qualifications:
Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, and candidates with volunteer experience will also be considered. All relevant experience will be credited.
Physical Requirements:
Applicants should be prepared for the physical demands of the role, which may include lifting, standing for extended periods, and other physical activities.
