We are seeking an experienced Solar Electrician to join our team at Green Power Energy. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of our solar energy systems.
Key Responsibilities- System Inspection and Maintenance: Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustments or repair, and to assure compliance with state and local codes.
- Service Upgrades and Interconnection: Carry out Service Upgrades needed for interconnection and meet with City and/or Town Inspectors to inspect the Solar installs.
- System Testing and Commissioning: Energize, test, and commission the solar systems with and without the utility.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components using test equipment, hand tools, and power tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Quality Control and Assurance: Conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
- Team Leadership and Training: Direct or train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring and equipment, and provide supervision of electrical crews on code issues and proper installation procedures.
- Equipment Repair and Replacement: Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using hand or power tools.
- Material Management: Oversee materials and equipment ordered to ensure that they are code compliant.
- Training and Development: Attend and/or run organization safety and other training meetings as required.
- Conduit Installation and Wiring: Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them.
- Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.
- License and Certification: E2 license holder.
- Technical Skills: Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter, etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.
- Safety and Compliance: Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
- Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Physical Demands: Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.
- Education and Experience: Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician, and valid license to practice profession.
