Softball Coach

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Softball Coach to join our team at Sussex County Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching the softball team, recruiting and maintaining a competitive roster, and developing player performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coach the softball team and develop a comprehensive coaching plan.
• Recruit and maintain an active softball team roster.
• Develop and evaluate player performance.
• Conduct and supervise all practices and games.
• Ensure students comply with all athletics policies and procedures.
• Coordinate maintenance of softball program equipment.

Requirements:

• General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures.
• Knowledge of Virginia High School League (VHSL) rules.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:

• Duties performed typically in school settings.
• Frequent walking, standing, lifting objects weighing up to approximately 25 pounds, and occasional lifting in excess of 75 pounds.
• Other limited physical activities are required.

Evaluation:

• The athletic director and building administrator will evaluate performance on the ability and effectiveness in carrying out the above responsibilities.
