About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Geospatial Engineer to join our team at Lockheed Martin Corporation. As a key member of our Rotary and Mission Systems business, you will play a critical role in designing, analyzing, and developing geo-spatial solutions in support of simulation and training devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop geo-spatial solutions using correlated 3D visual databases, geospatial databases, and toolsets.
  • Apply software to manage spatial and related tabular data, and develop workflows to synthesize work products in support of target platforms.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and production of terrain databases for flight simulation, including analysis and definition of training requirements, visual database tools design/development, and use of COTS tools for visual database development.
  • Oversee design/development/integration/testing of a mission area database, applying technically advanced, innovative, and cost-effective solutions to create immersive environments for modern military aviation training.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline.
  • Experience working with correlated 3D visual databases, geospatial databases, and toolsets.
  • Proven ability in supervising and assisting geospatial and/or modeling development activities.
  • Must be a US Citizen and have ability to obtain a secret security clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • Direct experience in one or more of the following areas: Image Generation system, hardware or software simulation design; visual/multispectral/terrain database design and/or generation, or simulator display design.
  • Experience with one or more available database and other production toolsets such as; ESRI ArcGIS, ESRI CityEngine, Presagis Creator, Blue Marble Global Mapper, TerraSim TerraTools, Adobe Photoshop.
  • Experience with GIS, GEOINT, geography, cartography, photogrammetry, geospatial and 3D database concepts, elevation data and imagery.
  • Experience in terrain modeling for thermal and/or radar sensors.
  • Experience with designing, developing, and following workflows to generate 2D and 3D terrain database products leveraging COTS products and industry-standard data formats.
