Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team at Goodwill of Colorado. As a key member of our sales floor team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a well-stocked and organized sales floor, and operating a point-of-sale cash register system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers in a welcoming manner and responding timely and professionally to customer inquiries.
  • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor by regularly cleaning and organizing shelves and racks, picking items up off the floor, putting away carts or baskets, and cleaning fitting rooms.
  • Provide accurate cashier transactions and maintain a balanced cash drawer using a computer-based point-of-sale system.
  • Assist customers with questions, concerns, and purchases.
  • Cross-train in other departments or areas and act as a back-up for other areas as required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • One-year retail sales or cash handling experience desired.
  • Must be accurate with numbers and general calculations and have an understanding of the value of different coins and US currency.
  • Must be able to use basic math such as adding, subtracting, and multiplication.
  • Must be able to operate a computer-based cash register and credit card machine.
  • Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to eight (8) hours per day.
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
