BioLife Plasma Services is a leading company in the plasma collection industry, and we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our plasma products.

About the Role

This position requires a strong understanding of medical procedures, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results.

As a Medical Support Specialist, you will work closely with the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure that all medical issues are addressed promptly and effectively. You will also be responsible for providing support on environmental, health, and safety (EHS) matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility by conducting medical history interviews, physical examinations, and blood tests
  • Evaluate donor reactions and follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Refer donors to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when necessary
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate-level educational nursing program with state requirements
  • A current EMT-Paramedic license in the state where responsibilities will be assigned
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
  • Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • Satisfactory completion of FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialists
  • At least two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting
