Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a qualified Oncologist to join our healthcare facility. This role offers flexibility with options for locum tenens, locum to permanent, or permanent positions.

Coverage Details:
This is a 24/7 position requiring on-call availability to address hematologic emergencies.

Patient Demographics:
The patient population includes both adult and geriatric individuals, with a focus on:
  • 60% Hematology
  • 40% Medical Oncology

The average patient load is as follows:
  • Outpatient: Currently 8 patients, with a goal to increase to 12 or more.
  • Inpatient: Approximately 8 patients per day.

Clinical Environment:
The role encompasses various settings, including:
  • Oncology Outpatient
  • Internal Medicine Inpatient
  • Oncology Inpatient

Trauma Level:
III

EMR System:
Aria/Meditech

Required Competencies:
The physician will be responsible for:
  • Management of VAD/CV Catheters
  • Participation in tumor board meetings
  • Ordering tests and imaging
  • Prescribing medications

Chemotherapy Administration:
This position involves collaboration with both Physician and Nurse Oncologists.

Credentialing Process:
The credentialing timeframe is approximately 3 months, contingent upon an active Pennsylvania medical license. Please note that only local providers will be considered, with mileage reimbursement available.
