About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at SSM Health. This is a per diem opportunity that will provide you with the flexibility to work on a part-time basis while maintaining a high level of expertise in your field.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic procedures using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing high-quality images for interpretation. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in helping our patients receive accurate diagnoses and effective treatments.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Performing Diagnostic Procedures: You will use advanced equipment and technology to perform diagnostic procedures, ensuring that all necessary safety protocols are followed and that patient comfort is maintained throughout the process.
  • Image Acquisition and Analysis: You will acquire and analyze high-quality images, identifying significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations. Your attention to detail and ability to recognize subtle patterns will be essential in producing accurate results.
  • Patient Care and Communication: You will provide exceptional patient care, communicating effectively with patients and their families to ensure their needs are met and concerns are addressed.
  • Maintenance of Equipment and Supplies: You will maintain the cleanliness and organization of the department, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are properly stored and easily accessible.
  • Compliance with Regulations: You will adhere to all relevant regulations and standards, including those related to patient confidentiality, data protection, and quality assurance.
  • Continuous Learning and Professional Development: You will stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in medical imaging and sonography, participating in ongoing education and training opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Associate's degree or completion of a Sonography certification program
  • Certifications: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Abdomen (AB) Specialty, registered musculoskeletal sonographer (RMSKS), and/or other relevant certifications
  • Experience: No experience required; however, prior experience in a hospital or clinical setting is an asset
