Job Summary:

The Guidance Counselor will provide academic and personal support to students, helping them overcome obstacles and achieve their educational and career goals. This role involves working closely with students, teachers, and parents to identify and address individual needs, and providing guidance on education and career options.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students in evaluating their strengths and interests, and help them develop education and career plans.
• Provide individual and group counseling to support students' personal growth and self-awareness.
• Work with teachers and other staff members to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed.
• Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and performance.
• Collaborate with outside agencies to provide additional support and resources for students.
• Coordinate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement academic support programs.
• Participate in faculty meetings and professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices and research.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of education and career development, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents. A certification in school counseling or a related field is preferred.

Working Conditions:

This role is based in a school setting and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The Guidance Counselor will work closely with teachers, administrators, and other staff members to provide support to students and promote a positive and inclusive school culture.

Evaluation:

The performance of this role will be evaluated annually, with a focus on student outcomes, academic achievement, and overall school success.
