Job Overview

Wessagusset Staffing is seeking an experienced Automation Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for providing programming, integration, and communication for PLC's, HMI's, single and multi-axis servos, and VFD's.

This is a hands-on position that requires strong technical skills and the ability to support the initial build of automated production machinery. The ideal candidate will have experience with Rockwell and/or Siemens PLC's, motion control, robots, and vision systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop automation controls systems for large-scale production machinery
  • Program and integrate PLC's, HMI's, and other control systems
  • Develop and implement precision motion control systems using high-speed servos
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of automation controls systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and software issues

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in automation controls engineering
  • Strong knowledge of Rockwell and/or Siemens PLC's, motion control, robots, and vision systems
  • Experience with PLC and HMI programming (Siemens and/or Allen Bradley preferred)
  • Precision motion control using high-speed servos
  • Electrical design experience, including wiring diagrams (AutoCad Electrical) and 480V, 3-phase power wiring and low voltage control circuits
  • Familiarity with NFPA 79 Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
