Radiology Technologist Job Description

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at OrthoCarolina. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician assistants while protecting employees and patients from unnecessary radiation and usage of appropriate protection standards.

**Responsibilities:**
* Provide diagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician assistants
* Protect employees and patients from unnecessary radiation and usage of appropriate protection standards
* Demonstrate competency in positioning of all radiological procedures as prescribed by departmental policy
* Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding and address any questions or concerns
* Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations and provide patient with radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods
* Clean and make minor adjustments to radiology equipment and ensure equipment is in working order and report equipment malfunctions to Radiology Manager or designee
* Prepare copies of x-ray films/CD's for patients, tests, surgery and physicians as required
* Log radiological procedures completed, process charges and related paperwork using computer equipment as directed
* Maintain cleanliness of examination rooms and stock necessary medical and/or radiological supplies in the department

**Requirements:**
* Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Medical Association
* Minimum of one year experience as an x-ray tech with an orthopedic background
* Fluoro experience
* Registered Radiology Tech by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) or ARRT registry eligible
* Current CPR certification recommended
