Vocational Trainer

We are seeking a highly motivated Vocational Trainer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a vocational technical and academic environment that provides inmates/detainees the opportunity to maximize their learning potential.

• Provide instruction to inmates/detainees for various labor and/or technical skills through classroom instruction, demonstration, and practical exercises.
• Maintain records including testing, daily offender work, attendance, and general record keeping.
• Assess educational needs of inmates, develop lesson plans to address those needs, including individualized assignments and training.
• Administer, score, and interpret examinations and proficiency indicators.
• Counsel students concerning their performance, behavior, and personal problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

• A Bachelor's degree or High School diploma equivalent to five (5) years wage-earning work experience.
• Two (2) years teaching experience required.
• A valid teaching certificate from the State Department of Education or comparable authority.
• A valid state driver's license.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000, depending on qualifications and location.
